Help with research into heads’ well-being

6th July 2012, 1:00am

I am writing to ask for some assistance with my PhD research. The topic is the effect of school headship on mental health and well-being. During 30-plus years as a teacher, I watched a number of heads suffer. It’s not getting any easier. Why do some struggle and others glide through their term of office? The help I need is for heads in and out of post to contact me if they have had any mental health issues. This can range from significant stressanxiety to a complete breakdown. If colleagues would be prepared to help, or just want to talk through these issues, please contact me at headteacher.research@hotmail.co.uk
