First he was dancing behind his record decks, then he appeared on television’s Strictly Come Dancing. Now radio DJ Spoony is tapping his toes into the classroom.
One of Britain’s top DJs, he is fronting a new campaign for schools to teach disc jockeying and mixing as part of the key stage 3 and 4 music curriculum.
“DJing is great and a fantastic skill for pupils to learn,” he said.
“When I started out, all I ever wanted to do was play records and make people dance. I’ve been a professional DJ for 10 years and the best part of the job is being behind the decks entertaining the masses.”
