Nearly everyone thinks parents should encourage children to do more homework and watch less television, according to an opinion poll carried out for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers by Harris. A survey of just over 1,000 adults also found that 76 per cent did not agree that schools should rely more on fundraising by parents. The same percentage agreed that teachers had more tasks to do today than before.
