Heritage heyday

This year, the International Day for Monuments and Sites (18 April) has the theme of world heritage. So why not inspire pupils’ passion for history with a school trip and remove some of the organisational stress with English Heritage’s booking system for schools?

What is it?

The service allows teachers to book visits to English Heritage’s 400 sites. It offers: information about facilities and availability; curriculum links, resources and activity ideas; and help booking trips and tours. Contact English Heritage Education on 0870 333 0606.

What else?

Prepare pupils with English Heritage’s classroom resources: it has a range of cross-curricular activities on subjects from Stonehenge to castles and the Second World War to the Tudors. Visit its TES Resources profile for more than 150 games and lesson ideas.
