ICT Forum

30th March 2001, 1:00am
Following the enormous success of the National Grid for Learning Day at last year’s Fusion 2000 conference in Glasgow, Learning and Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Executive are to run a major information and communications technology event for all primary and secondary teachers on September 19 and 20.

Last year 1,200 teachers took part in the one-day forum, which was used by some authorities for in-service training in ICT. This year the free two-day event at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre i Glasgow, sponsored by TES Scotland, is expected to attract 4,000 teachers from across the country.

At the heart of the forum will be an exhibition of the latest ICT hardware and software, with demonstrations of how they can applied to education. In eight seminar rooms, teachers and pupils will be demonstrating best use of ICT for the curriculum and school management.
