11th March 2011, 12:00am

Pupils from five schools in Trowbridge and Salisbury spent a week working as fire crew in a youth-inclusion project run by Wiltshire fire brigade. The scheme aims to teach new skills, boost self-confidence and promote team work. Fire rescue, water rescue, snatch rescue by abseiling, ladder climbing and using cutting equipment were among the skills taught to the 11 pupils.
