This is a simple, yet effective, way of making the most of video and DVD resources, particularly the well used ones.

Watch the recording with a pen and a series of index cards. Scribble down the timings of the programme, including key ideas, words and phrases and then file the cards in the box with the DVD or video.

This allows you to know at a glance what the programme includes, how much of the programme you need to watch, and the key learning points of each programme.

It improves lesson planning and timings and also allows you to prepare complementary resources without continually re-watching the programme to ensure you remember it
