I could never make up my mind about the PE teacher in Kes. Was this sadistic, bullying oaf an ignorant pig or just pig-ignorant? I am, therefore, glad to see that his real-life role model wasn’t that bad (“Why the real-life Kes teacher was actually heaven sent”, May 28).
