A series of attractively illustrated books that aims to encourage reluctant readers comes from Badger Publishing. Titles in the Full Flight series include a mixture of non-fiction (Speedway, Goalkeepers), stories (Abducted by an Alien, The Reactor) and a play (Real Radio). The books are aimed at children aged nine to 13 years and have a reading age of seven-and-a-half to eight. Many of the stories have a football andor an aliens flavour, although several have more girl-friendly themes. The teacher pack offers notes, activities and photocopy sheets.
