The number of Scottish students who have fallen behind in their loan repayments has more than halved in the past four years. Figures from the Student Loans Company showed that borrowers whose accounts have been passed to debt collection agencies have reduced from 4,490 in 2005-06 to 2,050 in 2008-09.
