A lollipop lady who was drunk and slurring her words while on duty has been given a year’s probation. Linda McLaughlin, 51, admitted drinking several glasses of wine at lunchtime before she returned to the crossing at Kinross primary, Perthshire, last June. She also pleaded guilty to failing to give a breath specimen when she was stopped by police while driving last March.
She was fined pound;400 and given a two-year driving ban.
