London waiting for pound;90k chief

16th August 2002, 1:00am
THE new commissioner for London schools can expect to earn up to pound;90,000 for co-ordinating the work of the capital’s education authorities. Details of the post, advertised in today’s TES, reveal that the Department for Education and Skills has not ruled out part-time working arrangements. The heavily-tipped Professor Tim Brighouse, Birmingham’s outgoing education director, said he would not be a candidate if it was a full-time job. The closing date for applications is September 13.
