Medieval History Magazine, a new monthly glossy magazine, produced by The Royal Armouries, the Leeds-based museum of arms and armour, is an English version of Histoire Medievale, published in France by Harnois Editions SARL. It costs pound;3.60 from WH Smith and other retail outlets or is available on subscription.

Young historians are working on archaeological digs, creating plays that re-enact the past, re-building important local landmarks, recording social, ecological and historical history and creating exhibitions thanks to grants worth between pound;3,000 and pound;25,000 offered through the Local Heritage Initiative.
