Makeover for school grounds

13th April 2007, 1:00am
SCHOOL grounds in Wales are to be transformed into havens for outdoor learning thanks to a joint Assembly government and Countryside Council for Wales grant of pound;410,000.

Learning through Landscapes, a national charity for school grounds, will work with schools and local authorities to develop educational experiences in the great outdoors. The charity hopes its makeovers will encourage pupils to enjoy learning in the fresh air - a major part of the play-led foundation phase for three to seven-year-olds and the 14-19 learning pathways initiative.
