‘Marking chaos’ leads to appeals

I have conducted a brief examination of our own key stage 2 results. My initial findings confirm that concern is justified: we found scripts which had already been marked twice, answers which were accurate but did not gain marks, English scripts which appeared to have been marked too severely, resulting in the largest number of scripts sent for appeal - 90 per cent were successful.
