Masseurs had their hands full at the NASUWT conference where delegates quickly filled all 240 free places available for shiatsu and other treatments. Dave Bennet, an acupuncturist from the organisation Breathing Spaces, co-ordinated the sessions in a relaxation zone fitted with wind chimes. “Delegates have the same symptoms as long-haul cabin crew,” he said. “They have the same complete burn-out, physical fatigue and low spirits.”
