After reading and enjoying the useful and interesting articles in The TES for 15 years, I was disappointed to find myself, on opening this week’s Magazine, reacting with dismay (“Yee ha! After therapy, fantasy”). Does the editor not consider that, although teachers appreciate light relief, Anne Thrope’s article is puerile and devoid of any use or interest? If I want to read such nonsense, I’ll spend #163;1.50 on Chat magazine and join those determined to “dumb down” some of the better things we have in favour of mass popularity and titillation. Sentences such as “I am now fighting the urge to shag every man in sight” - please ... Give us something with a little class that respects our intelligence.
