If you know someone who may qualify as instrumental teacher of the year, now is the time to nominate them.

Children, parents and colleagues in state schools across the 32 local authorities are invited to nominate teachers for the prestigious title of Yamaha Scottish Instrumental Teacher of the Year, now in its seventh year. The winner will receive a pound;2,000 scholarship to attend an international event, conference or course which will further hisher professional development.

Organised by Yamaha and the Heads of Instrumental Teaching in Scotland, the award recognises the dedication of more than 700 part-time and full-time instrumental teachers working in Scottish schools.

From the nominations, one teacher will be selected from each local authority and the national award will be decided by a panel of musicians and music educators based on further information on the teachers’

achievements and contribution to instrumental education.
