New dads could aid recruitment

The patience and creativity discovered by new fathers has prompted them to consider teaching, according to a study by the Teacher Training Agency. Of 1,125 graduate fathers questioned in the study, published this month, 84 per cent said they had reconsidered their priorities after having children - in the hope of spending more time with them. Of those men, 29 per cent said they were now more likely to consider teacher training, and 55 per cent said they had renewed respect for teachers after having to manage their own school-age children.
