The New Deal to get the unemployed off the dole and back to work will be extended to all people under 50 who are out of work long-term. The cash will be found by diverting funds from the rapidly-declining target 18 to 24-year-old group. It was originally 250,000, but now stands at 118,000 as unemployment among young adults continues to fall.
