A row has broken out between Stow College in Glasgow and the Scottish Funding Council over what the latter claims are “failings in management and governance”. Stow is alleged to have received Pounds 3 million from 2003-08 for construction courses that were run by a training company at a cost to the college of Pounds 867,000. College principal Bob McGrory denied any suggestion of wrongdoing and said the council’s guidance on the funding of vocational courses was unclear.
