No push on PLPs

Councils and schools are not rushing to develop personal learning plans, the researchers found. In September last year, only five local authority assessment co-ordinators mentioned developing PLPs as part of their remit and just under half of the councils had them in their improvement plans.

Some PLPs focused on curricular issues while others concentrated on personal development and personal interests. Some were used to support personal reviews of their learning but were not part of the reporting process.
