Students from Palatine Community Sports College put their maths skills to the test at the Make it Count initiative at Blackpool Sixth Form College. They were working on the imaginary scenario of organising the venue, promotions and merchandise for a charity rock concert.

Olympic swimmer Chris Cook was at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium to cheer on more than 1,700 students taking part in the E-ACT Games. The academy group’s track-and-field day was sponsored by the Inspire 2012 Olympic programme.

Young musicians from the 11 secondary schools in the Hexham and Newcastle Catholic Partnership South perform in front of an audience of 1,600 at the Sage Gateshead. More than 400 students took part.
