One in three children lives in poverty

A THIRD of British children live in poverty according to new research from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Poverty and Social Exclusion in Britain, reveals that more than four million children have to do without at least oneitem that most parents consider a necessity. The report warns that the percentage of households in Britain below the breadline rose from 21 per cent in 1990 to 24 per cent last year.
