Paddy Ashdown tackles expectations of ICT in learning

10th November 2000, 12:00am
Paddy Ashdown will give a seminar at the annual ECT Resource Conference at Doncaster Racecourse on November 16. A non-executive director of TIME Computers, Ashdown will address the question: “What does the outside world expect from ICT in education?” Smaller exhibitions outside London are enjoying a revival, with particular interest from educational technology companies that do not have the resources for national shows like BETT in London. Education stalwart Cambrigeshire Software House is organising today’s Learning and ICT roadshow at Northampton rubgy club featuring about 30 exhibitors and seminars. CSH boss Brian Richardson said: “Many of us don’t have enough people to talk to the numbers passing through events such as BETT. This scale is better for us and for teachers and the shows are a good local resource for teachers outside London.”
