Patriot poser

Most teachers reject the notion that patriotism should, or even could, be taught in our schools. They recognise a difficulty in teaching “love” of country. However, no such difficulties seem to exist in teaching the opposite emotion - hatred of country. Were it otherwise, we would not have a national curriculum that makes it illegal for maintained schools to teach a chronological account of British history - beauty spots and all.
