A deputy head who was intimidated for launching an investigation into her school’s finances has won undisclosed compensation from Hampshire council.

Ann Power, 60, asked governors to investigate Hayling school in 2001 after she became unhappy about cheques she was asked to sign. The investigation found no wrongdoing but led to a breakdown in her relations with the headteacher, causing her to sign off sick for two years.
