Nicol Stephen, the Lifelong Learning Minister, presided over a breakfast announcement on Tuesday of the latest link-up between Lauder College and Napier University. The institutions aim to plug the “degree deficit” in Fife, which has 12,000 fewer graduates in the workforce than the national average.
The new partnership will provide another 100 degree places a year in Dunfermline. Napier, which has one of the highest student drop-out rates of any UK university, will also be hoping the initiative eases the path for students moving from Higher National courses to degrees.
