Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College in Birmingham has won a top award for the design of its new building.

The college was handed this year’s Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award for its “beautiful, protected and calm environment” designed by Nicholas Hare Architects.

Gordon Brown said of the building: “Students, teachers and all those working and living around the college can take great pride in this first-class building. I am sure it will inspire all who use it and make a real difference to the community.”
