Paul Harrington (right), responsible for ICT at Cefn Fforest primary school, Blackwood, spoke of good practice in recording pupils as young as seven to be downloaded to MP3 players and mobile phones from the web at the annual WITS (Wales Information Technology) exhibition last month. An average of 300 hits from around the world is made for school produced podcasts every month. But he warned teachers to ensure that children were protected at all times. β€œAll the feedback and comments are read by me first so that nothing inappropriate is viewed by the children,” he said. ICT co-ordinators from 370 schools in South Wales attended the event at Esis conference centre in Treforest to hear about good ICT class practice. Photograph: Michael Hall
