Pushkin prizes

8th December 2006, 12:00am
Next Friday is the deadline for this year’s entries to the Pushkin Prizes 2007. The creative writing competition for Scottish and Russian pupils is open to all S1 and S2 classes. Entrants have to submit a folio of three pieces of work, on any subject they choose, in any genre, and in English, Gaelic or Scots. Ten winners will be selected to attend a creative writing week at the Arvon Foundation Writers’ Centre at Moniack Mhor, near Inverness, where they will be tutored by such writers as Catherine MacPhail, Diana Hendry and Gerry Cambridge. They are joined by two winners from St Petersburg. Previous winning entries can be found at www.pushkinprizes.net
