We note with interest the congratulations in the latest issue of the Scottish Community Education Council’s newsletter to Borders community education service whose work on training development and quality management won a prize in this year’s Scottish Local Government Quality Awards.
Could this be the same team which was threatened with the axe in the name of budget balancing earlier in the year? Well done, Scottish Borders for a sensible reprieve. No doubt the decision was taken after a full and mature consideration of all the facts based on the overriding need to avoid embarrassment all round.
