The Government should issue parental advisory warnings about the dangers of television, MPs heard this week. Dr Aric Sigman, associate fellow of the British Psychological Society, told a conference at the Houses of Parliament that watching TV for more than an hour and a half a day is detrimental to children’s health and education, regardless of programme quality. He believes the Government should warn parents of the consequences, as it does about passive smoking.
