We’ve teamed up with Nationwide, the sponsor of British Food Fortnight, to give you the chance to indulge in some great British food and to inspire you and your pupils to grow some of your own.

Six readers will win a day out at the Henry Doubleday Research Association, the UK’s leading organic gardening organisation. The prize includes a slap-up lunch in the organic restaurant, tour of the award-winning gardens, a half-day course in organic vegetable growing, followed by tea - and a pound;50 voucher to spend in their shop. Phew!

The day’s events will take place on Thursday October 27 and winners will need to make their own way to Ryton, near Coventry. For full details of the HDRA’s headquarters, including their Organic Gardens for Schools scheme, visit www.hdra.org.uk.

British Food Fortnight runs from September 24 to October 9 and features hundreds of events across the country. Visit www.british foodfortnight.co.uk for details and to download their schools pack “Putting the ‘Ooo!’ back into food”.

Chase Organics, publisher of the Organic Gardening Catalogue, is offering another six runners-up the chance to win a starter kit worth pound;25 that’s just the job for getting children growing their own.

Each set contains 50 Green Start coconut fibre pots with a compressed coir tablet growing medium, eight seed packets of easy to grow vegetables and herbs - including carrots, tomatoes, leeks and basil - and eight seed packets of gourmet organic salad collection.

To enter, answer the following question. Which of these is a kind of British cheese: Stinking Bishop, Smelly Reverend or Malodorous Monk? Mark your answer food and send it on a postcard to the TES address or by email to friday@tes.co.uk. Remember to include your name and contact details.

Entries close October 6.
