Red-faced Twigg

An interesting peek under the skirts of government during a question session at the North of England conference last week when the host announced that schools minister Stephen Twigg had gone against advice by continuing to be a governor at Southgate comprehensive in London. An embarrassed Mr Twigg was heard muttering: “You weren’t supposed to say that”. It seems civil servants did advise Twigg to consider quitting because of a possible conflict of interest.
