Regional pay is fatally flawed

I’m intrigued by George Osborne’s push for regional pay (“Osborne pushes on with regional pay deals”, 23 March). Why would I want to teach in a poorly paid area? A brief spell at a challenging school in a deprived area would have a lifetime’s impact on my finances. Hardly an incentive to go there. Presumably, he will wish to apply the same logic to MPs’ salaries, which is nice if your constituency is in leafy Cheshire, as his is.
