Retiring fears

The ATL, which last year took the lead in drawing attention to the proposal to increase teachers’ pension age to 65, is to continue its campaign with a resolution “utterly rejecting” claims that the change would offer more “flexibility and choice”. Concerned members include Laura Cox, a student teacher from Durham university, who said: “I don’t think it is right especially when teachers are leaving after a few years. This would drive even more away.”
