The Scottish Amateur Rowing Association is looking for a coach to work part-time with the Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association, supporting local development of junior rowing. The scholarship includes studying for a postgraduate qualification.

Meanwhile, George Watson's College won the under-16 boys' coxed fours title at the British Schools' Head of the River race on the Thames earlier this month. The Edinburgh school covered the 4.25 mile course from Mortlake to Putney in a record 19 minutes 50 seconds.

George Heriot's finished second in the under-18 girls' coxed fours and were just two seconds behind English winners Evesham.

George Watson's College also won the under-14 boys' coxed quad race in the British Schools' junior sculling head at Henley on Thames, in 12 minutes 29.9 seconds.
