Schools get results in maths without Sats

The Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education is absolutely right (“To inspire a lifelong love of maths, subtract KS2 Sats”, 17 June).

Very often, high-performing schools do not subscribe to key-stage testing and, as an association, we do not support the creation of league tables. This stance may seem counter-intuitive, but our schools clearly demonstrate their excellent standards of education and care without it.
