Two books which take an un-squeamish look at body parts and creepy crawlies have won a Pounds 10,000 award for the top science title for under-14s.

Blood, Bones and Body Bits and Ugly Bugs by Nick Arnold and illustrated by Tony de Saulles, in Scholastic’s Horrible Science series, were awarded the Rhone-Poulenc Junior Prize for Science Books this week.
