Scientific success story

I read the story of decreasing numbers of physics students with interest (TES, August 15). I teach A-level physics at a state sixth-form college where we have seen a 50 per cent increase in physics numbers over the past three years along with a similar increase in chemistry and an even larger one in further maths.

I hope you may run another article later this year about the shortage of physics students but I also hope you will include a success story such as ours at Richard Huish College.
