Scots face loss of holiday

SCOTTISH teachers should lose five days’ holidays for professional development, an inquiry into pay next week is expected to re-commend. Professor Gavin McCrone will suggest a 35-hour week in reurn for pay increases averaging around 15 per cent, as part of a pound;200 million package. Starting salaries will rise to around pound;17,000 and the top of the common scale to around pound;26,000.
