Seven winners to visit Brussels;In brief

Seven pupils will visit the European Parliament in Brussels this summer, after winning a national competition organised by the Institute for Citizenship Studies. They were chosen from more than 100 15 to 17-year-olds who submitted entries on the themes of European citizenship and the environment.

Winners: Essay competition: Alice Bell, 17, of Queens Park community school, Brent; Neil Cardwell, 16, of Boroughmuir high school, Edinburgh; Rahim Sattar, 15, of Rushey Mead school, Leicester. Video and audio competition: Andrew Coady, 17, Tim Lessells, 17, Merlin Jones, 17 and Anna Richerby, 16, of The Beauchamp College, Leicester. The competition was sponsored by the European Commission, the European Parliament and The TES.
