Sex-ed goes Dutch

7th May 2010, 1:00am

Plaid Cymru wants Wales to become more like the Netherlands and make sex and relationship education (SRE) statutory for all primary and secondary pupils. Nerys Evans AM, the party’s education spokeswoman, said Wales should copy the Netherlands, which has invested heavily in sex education and family planning, because there are too many “deficiencies” in the current SRE provision. The Assembly government is consulting on new SRE guidance.
