More light is shed this week into the darkest corners of the world of further education by the Learning and Skills Development Agency.

Well, sort of.

Its army of researchers has been investigating the different teaching styles which are used in colleges, work which has spawned the thought-provokingly titled report: Should we be using learning styles?

They found that there are a number of different teaching techniques.

Apparently, one approach is a “pedagogic sheep dip, where teaching strategies deliberately engage with a variety of learning styles”.
