Smaller classes ease job search

Referring to “Primary jobs ‘farce’ ” (TESS, March 3), I would like to point out that it is not only probationers who are worried about jobs. I have now applied for 24 jobs in two months, with no success, and this comes after nearly three years of searching for a standard primary class teacher job.

Surely smaller classes where children are able to receive more individual attention would be better for them than being forced to have a different newly qualified teacher each year.

So, if class sizes were reduced, we could all be employed to do what we would love to do - teach children.
