DEFENDING educational psychology’s serious options, Professor Wolfendale (TES, August 23) also needs to compare each of them with modules in other subjects. This implies ranking the ambiguous concept of “difficult options” and finding a suitably representative sample of average students to test beliefs about the subjects’ difficulty. Such an exercise could not be classed as an easy option.
