Solar study site

8th September 1995, 1:00am
Science, technology and engineering students of all ages will be able to live and work in a new solar study centre due to open at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth, Powys, in 1996. Its photovoltaic roof will make maximum use of passive solar heating and the generation of electricity from the sun. School groups can also stay in CAT’s eco-cabins and experience their impact on the earth’s resources by monitoring their electricity consumption measuring wood and water use, recycling waste and monitoring sewage treatment.
