The low ability Year 9 class were working on my carefully created “Julius Caesar” wordsearch. Silence reigned as they concentrated on locating the 20 characters and associated words hidden in the lexical labyrinth. Suddenly, Lucy’s hand burst skyward as she shrieked, “Finished, Sir!” She was distraught to be told that “Rut Men Ram Hany” was not a line from the text. I reiterated that actual lines from the play could be found within the unused letters.
A few more minutes passed. Then... a confident cry crushed the calm. Alas, Mark had failed to discover “Et tu, Brute?” or “Beware the ides of March”. But he had unearthed one of the Bard’s lesser known lines - “Money for Steve”.
