TEACHERS are being urged not to subsidise budgets by forking out for books and materials. A straw poll of primary teachers found a Year 34 teacher who had spent pound;270 of her own cash on books and other materials and equipment. Nansi Ellis, primary adviser for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, said: “We would not expect nurses to finance patient care. This is taking teachers’ good faith to the limit.”
